FORMULA FOR USE:
Oil/Fat in ounces X Saponification Value = Amount of Lye Needed to make soap.
For multiple oils calculate separately and add lye totals together.
Example- I have 25oz of coconut oil I want to use in my recipe. 25oz X 0.190 (sap value for coconut oil)= 4.75 oz of lye. It will take 4.75oz of lye to saponify the oil.
TO CALUCULATE WATER: 6oz water per 16oz oil/fat.
Example- 56oz total oil/fats ÷ 16 = 3.5, 3.5 X 6oz = 21oz Water
