Cold Process Soap Recipes

100% Olive Oil ( Castille)
Olive Oil 50 oz
Distilled Water 20oz
Lye 7 oz
Temp: Oil & Lye 100-110
Can add color and fragrance if desired at trace.
The easiest recipe to make. Produces a bar with little lather.
This recipe is especially good for people with sensitive skin.

My Sunflower Recipe
Coconut Oil 30 oz
Olive Oil 30 oz
Palm Oil 24 oz
Sunflower Oil 18oz
Distilled Water 32 oz
Lye 12oz
Temps Approxiamately 105 Degrees
At Trace add 1/4 cup Calendula
Petals
and 1oz sunflower fragrance oil.
*Another great sustitute is Chamomile
Flowers and Chamomile Essential Oil |
Cinnamon Stick
Coconut Oil 14 oz
Palm Oil 28oz
Grapeseed Oil 8 oz
Olive Oil 24 oz
Shortening 12 oz
Beeswax 2oz
Distilled Water 32 oz
Lye 12 oz
Temps 95-100 degrees
At trace add Cinnamon
Leaf Essential Oil or other spice fragrance/essential oil
1 Tsp of ground cinnamon (natural Color) |

At trace try adding chocolate or vanilla fragrance or essential oil.
This will enhance
the natural cocoa butter fragrance. |
Washbasin Wonders - Warm & Spicy Oatmeal
* 48 oz Vegetable Shortening
* 11 oz Soybean Oil
* 10 oz Olive Oil
* 2 oz Cocoa Butter
* 28 oz Distilled Water
* 12 oz Lye
* 2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
* 1/4C Ground Oatmeal
* 2 tbsp Ground Ginger
* 1-2 oz Any Cinnamon Fragrance
* 1-2 oz Clove Fragrance Oil
Directions
Temps Oil & Water/Lye Solution 100 degrees At trace add Ginger, Cinnamon, Oatmeal and FO's. The ground ginger adds a slight warming sensation to skin during use, enhancing the fragrance.

Washbasin Wonders-Sandlewood/Cedar Goat Milk Soap
40 oz Olive Oil
24 oz Coconut Oil
18 oz Palm Oil
16 oz Distilled Water
12 oz Lye
12 oz Can (cold) Condensed Goat Milk (Added at trace)
1 part Cedarwood EO/FO
1Part Sandlewood FO
Temps: Oil and Lye/Water Solution should be cool to touch about 95 degrees.
Slowly stir lye solution into oils. When early trace is reached (runny but uniform in color), add cold goat milk and fragrance oils.
Be sure to have your molds ready before hand because once the milk and FO's are added your soap will trace extremely fast.
Pour into molds. Do not insulate!

Tips and Tricks
*Using distilled water reduces “ash” on soap during the cure. Tap water
contains sodium, iron and other impurities that can cause ash to form.
*Sometimes ash is inevitable. Don’t be alarmed.. It can be easily
removed by simply cutting off.
*Experiment with fragrance combos on a tissue first. It will save a lot
of money if your idea doesn’t smell too great in your soap. (Lesson
from experience!)
* You don’t necessarily have to buy colorants like micas and other soap
colorants. Try melting part of a crayon in a small amount of your base
oils and add at trace. Natural colorants such as cinnamon, paprika, and
cocoa powder are also excellent choices.
* Add your favorite herbs and botanicals to your soaps at trace. They
can offer beautiful, and unique coloring to soaps.
